- Breeding of new hop varieties according to requirements of hop- and breewing industry as well as changed consumer preferences
- Classical cross breeding -> 75-100 crosses per year
Development of varieties:
- classical noble aroma varieties
Tettnanger cross breeding program - high alpha varieties
Elbe-Saale breeding project - “new Hüller aroma cultivars”
5 new varieties in 2004 - breeding of dwarf hops
for low trallis systems - hops for alternative applications
(beta acids, xanthohumol)
