Hüll-bred, climate-tolerant aroma hop with excellent brewing characteristics

Climate change and the imperative to protect the environment necessitate a new approach to the production of hops. Importantly, this involves the development of new and versatile hop varieties, such as TANGO. With its excellent brewing characteristics, climate tolerance, and optimal disease and pest resistance, TANGO provides a reliable and ecologically compatible way forward for both brewers and hop farmers.

Aroma impressions of raw hops

Aroma in beer

TANGO’s high total oil content offers the brewer a very broad aroma spectrum with stable, classic hop notes, even from very early aroma additions. Therefore, TANGO is an environmentally friendly alternative to older hop varieties which does not alter the taste of the beer. The character of this hop is pleasantly fresh and “hoppy,” with nuanced notes of citrus and green fruit.

Dry-Hop Aroma

Very late hop additions as TANGO, as well as dry-hopping with TANGO, result in a distinctly fruity aroma spectrum that is characterized mainly by passion fruit notes. These can even be accentuated in beer attenuated by top-fermenting yeasts. TANGO impresses with its mild and pleasant bitterness, even in strongly hop-forward brews.
