Successful Cooperation in Hop Research
In 1974, a cooperation between the Land of Bavaria and the Society of Hop Research was formed. The cooperation with the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture, Institute for Crop Science and Plant Breeding, Hop Unit brought the opportunity to build a central institution as a contact partner for all questions concerning hop.
Buildings, structure and breeding yards are property of GfH and available free of charge for the Land of Bavaria.
The GfH invests in renovation of buildings and engineered structures. Required equipment, for example in the field of analytics, are financed by the GfH. Even personnel costs are taken over by the GfH; the majority of these costs as well as ongoing operating costs are beard by the Land of Bavaria.
The Society of Hop Research is represented by Dr. Michael Möller, Chairman of Managing Committee, and Dipl. Ing. Walter König, Managing Director. Head of the Institute for Crop Science and Plant Breeding, Hop Unit is Dr. Peter Doleschel.
